Hello, I'm Jake Burley

I'm a photographer from America. I am currently living in Otterberg, Germany.

My love of photography started way back in high school. I don't know why I chose photography as an elective to begin with but I do know that it didn't take long for me to get hooked. I quickly fell in love with the entire process. Loading the new film cartridge, carefully choosing the subject for each photo, and finally going into the darkroom and developing the photos. I doubt anything I took was ever any good back then, but that didn't even matter. I enjoyed every minute of it.

After graduating I married my high school sweetheart and soon after, our two beautiful daughters were born. It was around this time where my photography slowed giving rise to the dreadful early cellphone cameras.

In 2018, I changed careers and turned my love of building furniture from a side hobby into a full time business. I quickly learned the value of high quality photos and picked up photography again to showcase my own business.

Fast forward to 2020 and with the pandemic in full swing, my family and I decided we needed to get away. We moved to Okinawa, Japan. This is where my love of photography was able to really blossom again. From capturing beautiful landscapes to beautiful moments with clients, a day rarely passed where I wasn't doing something photography related.

In March of 2022 my family and I moved to the Kaiserslautern area of Germany to the village of Otterberg. My passion for photography has never been stronger than it is now. I can't wait to meet new clients, hear their stories and help them capture those special moments.
